Ingredients and seasonings required for make
  1. Prepare 2 red onion, roughly chopped
  2. Prepare 5 garlic cloves,peeled
  3. Prepare 2 tbsp grated ginger
  4. Use 6 large red chili,3 de-seeded and roughly chopped,3 chopped
  5. Prepare 3 lemongrass stalk,white part only, roughly chopped
  6. Prepare 3 tbsp light flavoured oil
  7. Prepare 2 tbsp ground cumin
  8. Prepare 2 tbsp ground coriander
  9. Prepare 2 tsp turmeric
  10. Prepare 2 kg beef diced
  11. Use 400 ml coconut milk
  12. Prepare 2 cinnamon stick
  13. Prepare 1 tbsp sea salt
  14. Prepare 1 tbsp soft brown sugar
  15. Take Kafir lime
  16. Prepare Coriander. Leaves chopped
  17. Prepare 1 big red chili for garnish

Coat the beef and lemongrass with the paste. Add the rest of the braising ingredients. Let simmer until the beef turns super tender and the braising liquid has caramelized. Things to note when braising You should keep the braising liquid at a low simmer.

Steps to cook Beef rendang:
  1. Place the onion,garlic,ginger, chillies and lemon grass in a food processor and pulse to a paste
  2. Heat the oil in large based pan over medium heat,add the paste and the cumin, coriander, turmeric powder cook and stirring for 2 min untll fragrant
  3. Add the beef and cook over high heat for 4-5 mum until the beef sealed
  4. Add the coconut milk 400 ml water, cinnamon stick,salt,sugar and bring to boil,reduce the heat and simmer, uncovered for 2and 2 1/2 hours stirring occasionally until meat starts to break up n the liquid has evaporated
  5. Garnish with kafir lime, chopped coriander n big red chili
  6. Serve with steamed rice and green vegetable,,enjoy😋
  7. Done and ready to serve!
